Upgrading a VFC SCAR-H SSR?

So I have had my VFC brand SCAR-H SSR for around a year and a half. It recently broke down at a game and has undergone repairs. Even more recently it has been acting up and giving me more trouble (jamming, really inaccurate, ect.) and therefore I feel the need for some changes. So what I want is some upgrades. The problem I have been having is: what upgrades? It's not a cheap AEG, VFC isn't some off brand that no ones heard of. So what am I suppose to upgrade since everything is in at least decent shape? I want to maximize the range and accuracy. So ROF is not something I care about. My current FPS with .2s stays close to 420 FPS.

-Thanks

It sounds like a hop up/bucking issue.

Upgrades, hop up, bucking, barrel and heavy BBs (.28s at a minimum).

Yeah, definitely sounds like a hop-up issue. Make sure you pick out the right bucking for how fast your gun is shooting.

As far as accuracy, a barrel and a new hop-up nub (H shapes, etc.) will suffice.

Thanks for the tips, but i'm still wondering about motors, gears, and the like. Also wondering about precision brands. Really appreciate the tips thus far though!

If you are happy with the FPS and rof, you dont need to touch the gearbox.

I would suggest a flat hop, easy to install, great range upgrades.

The barrels I have used and have worked extremely well are
1. JBU 6.01 tightbore- worked miracles grouping wise. The barrel was so short and just had such great range.
2. Madbull v2 black python- another absolute beast. Worked miracles in my kwa sr7
3. G&P stock barrels are pretty solid
4. Vfc scar h that i have has a cqb barrel and works great.
It sounds like you have a hop up issue with yours. The stock barrel is solid, but you could upgrade. If I were you first take the hop up and barrel and bucking apart, then put it back together correctly. Works most of the time for me anyways. If that doesn't work then replace it. You also should make sure nothing in the barrel isn't hindering the bbs.

The Matrix buckings I'm using in two guns right now are absolutely fantastic. They come with standard nubs and the buckings aren't too thick. Oh well, it's all up to you, man. As far as motors go, I know about ICS Turbo 3000s, G&P M120s, and JG Super Torque motors (all are very solid to me; especially the JG which has lasted for around 80,000 bbs). I've heard good things about Lonex ones, though.

Internally I'd replace the vfc self shimming gears, new piston, drop the gear ratio to like 16:1, shim, lube, MOSFET and a lipo. For range rhop it

We really can't tell you what bucking you'll need. Just experiment with different types of buckings and nub combinations. Like stated before, if you're comfortable with your FPS, then don't go into the Gearbox. I hope you find the right range you're looking for!
