All dads and kids: Cheap Electric AEG

One of my friend asked me what the best thing to buy for his 6 years old son. its has to be electric but durable and low fps. Price shall be between 50 and 75$.

Any ideas?
I looked at Bassproshop last weekend but even their cheap gun shoot 270fps...
I have no clue about cheap guns and no details available in the forums are meant to be for "perfect son's aeg" so I definitely need your help.

I know trader's world you can get some low level aeg's but durability would be an issue with them. Will run around $35 and shoots at about 150 fps.

Sounds like the TM Boys series would be perfect. Did a quick search and it seems they've been discontinued. I wasn't able to find any retailers stateside that still carry them. TokyoHobby still has them up on their website, whether or not they actually have them in stock is anyones guess.

Also, it looks like Airsoft Atlanta has some LPEGs that might fit the bill.

The first LPEG we ever owned was a CYMA .023 MP5 A5 and it still works today. The gun is not incredibly accurate, but it does fire around 150-200fps with cheap .12 BB's and is small enough for a child. It also came with safety glasses, which is a good discipline to teach them at an early age and I was surprised at how long the gun has lasted for the $29.95 that is costs. You may want to consider this as an option. Moreover, if by some chance he breaks it, you are not out much money and replacements are abundant.

At our local Walmart there are those really bad see through Minis that shot about 150-175 fps. They cost like 20 dollars, however they can take an absolute beating. I bought one for the fun of plinking around and this thing has worked for at least 3 years, being dropped, stepped on, and completely destroyed, however, it still fires true to this day. I'll have to see if I can dig it out of my old boxes

Too Bad the Walmart guns all are Cybergun products, and no self respecting airsofter that actually cares about the sport would put any money into the pockets of that soul killing company.

Walmart discussions always take on a political tone, so please don't even go there.

True, true...It has been a while since that purchase and I hope I have gotten a little more in depth into airsoft. I will never purchase Cybergun again, ever.

Quite frankly, I wouldn't give a 6 year old any object capable of launching a projectile other then something NERF

My grandson is 12. He uses one of my guns and is not permitted to use it outside of an airsoft game.

I figured around there, it was interesting being squad leader of him and his friends, and they all got shot at the same time. Funny game that was

it seems to me that while giving the child an airsoft gun may be "less than safe" as it were, it would also be a great way to teach the child some responsiblity, provided it is done safely, perhaps with access to the gun only allowed when the child's father / mother is around. (namely, the gun is in the parents' closet until daddy's home, sorry jimmy)
as for a suggestion, I think meijer also has some cheap, weak guns, but they might be cybergun, not sure. I do agree with sidd about the minis, though, if one can be found.

I had my first BB gun at 6, first airsoft gun at 10. As long as they are taught well there is nothing wrong with it.

Like airsoft addict said lock it away untill supervised or something if you are worried.
