Survey: Looking for serious players

I have been going through a ton of videos, forums and team websites lately and I started wondering something; Who in Ohio are considered hardcore/serious players?.

So here it is. I am looking for all player who (or would like to) consider themselves more than just a casual COD/MW/Paintball players. Here are few things I am looking for;

- Full name.
- Callsign.
- you team (if any)
- years of airsoft experience
- Age.
- School degree.
- Work (what you do for a living).
- What gear/impression are you trying to achieve or go for.
- What weapons do you have.
- What interest you in airsoft.
- Is winning that important for you.
- Are you more interested in kill cards or teamwork.
- Do you prefer quick and dirty 5min games or long lasting mission (being in CQB or wood).
- where do you see yourself in 5 years (airsoft wise)?

So interested to share your info? email everything to blade@teamstrikers.com or PM.

Some will call you a gear whore, some will call you a GMR fan, it doesn't matter to me, I just want to know more about the Ohio "hardcore" community.

I'd say paintball players are more "hardcore" than any airsoft player. Why make fun of a certain player cause that's not "hardcore" in your book? And didn't paintball pave the way for airsoft? Airsoft to me now days is more about dress up and some made up story to follow. Paintball players just go out and play. They don't need some made up Russian name to have fun.

You forgot to throw in MoH in there also.....or is that video game hardcore?

ABod22,

I am not making fun of Paintball at all. In reality, Paintball and airsoft are not that much different. You actually said the reason why I put Paintball up there; just go out and play. Although, some could argue that when you compete in paintball, it is much more than just go out and play but lets not drag this topic into a paintball versus airsoft shall we.

As far as gaming system, I could have a huge list but you are missing the point. All those games are fine and dandy and there is a huge portion of this community playing it. Nothing wrong about that. Where it makes a difference is when you play those games, you have very specific rules, areas and perks that you can't bend, modify or cheat....unless you know cheatcodes, programming, etc....

Don't get me wrong Abod, many players just want to go out and have fun and once again, nothing wrong with this. This thread is about those who wants more than just go out and have fun. It is for those who spend time trying to get their impression better, for those who try to reach a more realistic way to play. That is all. Nothing to read between the lines, nothing to shame any other playing style.

Abod, this wasn't a discussion, your post was useless. This wasn't about paintballers. Blade wasn't making fun of ANYBODY, he was just surveying our community. Also, it's been dress up and a story to follow for over 10 years not just "now days", get used to it bud.

Bod I don't know that anyone is being made fun of here. I've said it before, there are lots of different styles to which people like to play Airsoft. The opens tend to cater more to the high trigger time quick matches and the story driven games and Milsims tend to cater more toward those who like to rely on teamwork and strategy to complete multiple objectives. To me the teams that are the most effective in the field are those that work together and communicate well. MACE is a good example of a young team that works well together to complete objective. That to me places them in a category of player who understands the fundamental basics of how you complete your "mission" be it rescue ops in a make believe scenario or filling a kill card in fast games.

One of the things that distinguished the raiders was that we worked well together an communicated. We knew what the other members of our group were doing and it allowed us to be effective on the field. Everyone has a different view of what's fun for them and there is nothing wrong with that. We don't need in my humble opinion to be attacking each other because we may enjoy different ways to play with toy guns on the weekend guys .

The point is why even put paintball players in the discussion of being a hardcore airsoft player. There's no need to even say it. But everyone on here wants to make indirect comments towards paintball players. Its getting old.

Abod, because paintballers are a big part of this community. Why should we try to avoid or make like they don't exist? Again, it got nothing to do with paintballers being a good or a bad influence. They are simply part of us and they bring something that we can't neglect.

Indeed. We both (paintballers and airsofters) have a ton to learn from each others. a paintball team doing CQB is serious business, nothing to joke about.

Is this even a discussion or does Blade just want PMs? Looks like he just wants PMs. No need to have this conversation again.

There there....

Paintball did not pave the way for airsoft. Airsoft was awesome when paintball was still cowboys playing with cow markers in the livestock pins.

Airsoft is the alpha and the Omega.

Now let us never speak of paintball again...

Good day sir... and madam...

I got enough PMs as it is Rowdy
So why do we say this discussion again? Is it an old thread or something?

It's Texx. Did you want a cookie or something?

Seriously this is a bigger deal than it should be. Don't want to hear some common jokes/ friendly banter about the other hobby? Then don't go looking for trouble on an AIRSOFT forum.

Yeah that's in the color of a rainbow.

Realistically? I'd like to learn the field craft part that goes into making these people we are trying to portray accurate. I'd like to try and learn some Pashdo or Farsi. I'd like to learn the intelligence gathering stuff that these men and women you hear about do that makes the impression that much more real.
