Looking for a Team

I am looking for a team. I have looked around, but I want to see if anyone is interested enough in me to reply to this thread. Here is my basic information:

I am 14 (15 in April)

I currently only have a USP

I plan to get a Riot Shield for "Custom" games

My uniform consists of an Army Combat Uniform (ACU), combat boots, fingerless gloves, and a gas mask for face protection.

I am a Police Explorer, and while I have only been one for a few months, I am no stranger to tactics.

I can only be active weekends/Breaks from School

Here is what I am looking for in a team. At the very least, the team must have what has an * next to it:

**Located near Lorain County (I live in Oberlin, and can't go far)**

Has a Ranking System.

*Is very mature, but is no stranger to humor.

*Loves playing games such as TDM, Infection (Zombies), Medic, etc.

*Must be a Tight Knit team, like a dysfunctional family.

*Willing to take in a Rookie and, after grading my accuracy, can recommend a weapon class (Recon, Support, Etc.)

Has a diversity of Snipers, Support, Assault, etc.

*Plays for FUN

I will post a picture here soon of me in my uniform, plus my weapon. Hope to hear from some great teams!

I would look into getting a decent primary (G&G Combat Machine is a good starter gun).

Teams come to you my friend you will learn that in time.

pretty much hit it dead on. go to games, get yourself known, and teams will ask you to join.

maybe hit up EX-OPS, or 216 They're all good guys and they're in your area.Yeah first get a reliable primary like a G&G combat machine or an ECHO-1 MRF series.

People have already given you some good advice here, but just to reiterate, teams will find YOU and ask you to join, (usually it will require you playing more than one or two games along side them.) Many teams are made up of close friends, so they are tight knit, but these teams rarely take on random outsiders. To the best of my knowledge, most teams do not really focus on squad classifications such as sniper, assault, support, etc. That sounds like something you have picked up from video games. I am sure there are a few out there who do, but most just prefer all assault rifles for practicality and ease of mobility. Support weapons are fun and useful, but they can certainly slow people down, so some teams just prefer not to use them. Airsoft "snipers" are one of the most over hyped positions and frankly are not very effective in battle unless you truly have the patience and mindset of a sniper, and you are willing to put money into a quality rifle, with quality upgrades. Most of us with decent to high-end AEGs can out range "snipers", have equal or better accuracy, and have semi and full auto. Unless you really want to put the time and lots of money into being a true sniper, you are much better off getting a decent AEG. You will probably have a lot more fun, and be more effective to a squad/team when taking objectives. There are many great guns available, so do some research online and figure out what looks good to you. Other than that, just attend games, be open to working with or following others, and watch the tactics others may use. By doing this, you will get to know different players, they will get to know you, and teams will be more likely to approach you, but remember the most important part is just to have fun. Hope that helped.

Derp. Disregard my previous statement, I didn't see that.

Your going to need to think about picking up an AEG, JG's and CYMA's are great for those on a budget, a few mags, and something to hold them in before you worry about a team. In all honesty a kid with only ACU and a USP is not appealing to a team.

I don't plan on being a "fighting" type yet, not until I can afford an AEG. Until I can, I want to play more of an assisting role, carry everyone's extra ammo, basic first aid stuff, bottles of water... Until I have enough money to get an AEG, I plan on being the Pack Mule.

Well I've never seen a Pack Mule in a game. But I can tell you , without being able to shoot back effectively, you're gonna be a BB magnet. Can't be much help if you're dead.
Hit the parents up for your birtrhday and/or Christmas. Hmm you COULD play a Medic role. They heal dead players And no, the don't use real first aid supplies. I'd suggest you learn more about HOW games work.

I know they're not really supposed to, but I feel it is vital to keep basic first aid supplies on hand, and not just for sports like airsoft. At ALL TIMES, and since Airsoft does get some injuries, it's a good thing to keep them handy in case there isn't anything around.

Well if you ever come to BTT, you won't need them. The field owner is a paramedic and we have a firefighter and a disaster specialist on our team.
And unless you've been trained in first aid, you could open yourself up to litigation. And you can't do anything more than what you've been trained to do.
It's a noble idea but serious injuries aren't that prevalent on an airsoft field. You're going to get opened up by bb's and maybe a sprain and an occasional tooth shot out. Sprains are treated as a broken bone until an xray is taken to prove it isn't broken. Airsoft prides itself on safety. We stress it here on AO. If someone even suggest trying something unsafe, they get called on it. Please do yourself a favor and learn how the game is played.

I mainly would have them when supplies aren't around (and hand them off to who knows what to do). I can do more when I am certified in First Aid (if I am chosen to go to JVS my Junior year). I would already be certified if I knew where to do it.

Not to belabor a point. I admire you enthusiasm but you have a lot of preconceived notions about airsoft games without having played one. Go to a game, you may want to rethink things afterward.
