Well even though I was staff I'll give my thoughts

For those of you wondering, I was he big fat ref in the red shirt and black pants.

Jonah thanks for asking me to staff it was short notice but wasn't concerned about that. Great event from what I could see

Sportsmanship was good for the most part, how ever attitudes and tempers were hot at some points being apart of this sport and it's people is a great privilege I've been here for 4 years and have had respect for alot of people. How ever most of us know sometimes some one makes a mistake and it happens it really does but attempting to hit another player is absolute unacceptable and most of us would agree it's UN called for and makes things difficult

Now onto the good stuff,

Mongoose and war hammer.....DAMN!! You guys killed it out there great skills, great communication, and great group teamwork, excellent job on all parts

Globex you guys did great as well again teamwork was amazing and so was you creativity with booby traps and defense even.though green did invade you, it wasn't easy by any means and you defiantly made it a insane challenge got green and most of them wood agree

I will say this there were some spot chronos that were shooting to hot halfway through this is something that has to be checked and double checked before game starts safety is the number one goal no body needs to get hurt in that close of quarters because of gun shooting to hot so please further events.you go to that's cqb please make sure your weapons are safe for other players to get hit by

Also,

It was amazing to see some old faces I have been out of commission for over a year and Sunday was my first event.back

Cainehazen, moose, Jonah, all ruins raiders, myth and ruff, sarge, ctu Davis, duo Chan, and Phil, just everyone I've missed you all and it was awesome to see all of you again.

Also all players there that day can agree STAIRS F***ING SUCK!!!!!!!!

Great job everyone

I cant say much that hasnt been said before me.

Johah and everyone else: hats off to you from Team Atlas. Great event and an even greater venue. Could you imagine how hot that place will be in August? That would suck.

Anyways, besides loosing our 8th squadmate in the fray (seriously have no idea where he went after the first couple hours) and our 7th squadmate during lunch, we sucked it up and rolled with 6 and proceeded to capture multiple hostages and bombs while making Globex pay dearly for blowing up vegas. Saw some great cqb, good and bad sportsmanship (mostly good), and a hell of a lot of stairs. All in all it was a great day and i loved every minute of it.

If only that place was a little bigger, maybe twice the size, it would have been perfect.

this was my first game in a couple month and i could not have piked a better game to come back to.

i was planning on getting some video but out first engagement with delta in isolation saw my camera "protective" case shattered above the camera lens. time for my high-tech redneck side to make a new case for the camera.

the location was amazing i came in a 7 and the first time i saw the prison i said wow. then i got inside and my jaw dropped. just amazing. then however i got to the stairs.. my arch nemesis. still had a blast.

Globex - so many familiar faces how could we not have fun. great bunch of guys, not a problem to be had.

delta - i hate your faces. just kidding but in all seriousness DEAR SPIRITUAL BEING OF YOUR CHOICE... you were everywhere. LITERALLY, my squad got sent out to spawn in behind you during the spawn camping of the west tower. we were deployed 3 times in 3 different places only to run into overwhelming opposition. one squad on the far side of the block finally saw what we were trying to do and in a sense of fair play and gentlemanly way let us proceed... when we came around the corner i was met with the only problem i had that day.

a squad mate and my self breached the door of the west tower side by side. a delta operator. was in front of us my squad mate fired, i yelled bang bang. to which said delta man replied i am dead while grabbing my barrel and pushing it to the ground. "mind i was being fired at from behind him". i then proceeded to point out his lack of red rag. he then looks at me leans his head forward and motions to a red strobe V-light on the back of his helmet. he was facing us the whole time there was no possible way for either of us to have seen this... none the less my teammate did fire a little close but at 350fps i should have fired as well. bang bang is a choice as we all know. not a big deal and i digress no one was hurt.

still have a great day. see you one the field

As everyone has said before me amazing job to anyone who helped organize/run this event. I had an absolute blast.

Overall I really didn't see very much cheating when it came down to it. Once or twice I thought someone didn't call their hit only to find out they did but they just moved into cover before pulling their dead rag. If we didn't push all the way up to see those people I would have no idea they actually called the hit, this may be a possibility to some of those I heard saying hit calling was out of control.

As to chrono issues. That is sad to hear, I had no idea anyone was chronoing to hot on the field. Airsoft is and most likely always will be an honor sport, those who break these rules just make it harder to advance it along and bring new people in. Some more spot checking most likely would help but in reality it comes down to the players to be honest so please everyone for the sake of all airsofters be honest.

On the positive side I have only been airsofting for about 1 year now, this is my first CQB game so far and I had a total blast. First part of the day was rough seeing as half of my squad didn't show up and we were running short. I'll be honest and say we sort of merged with another group due to us being so small and we would have to return to base as soon as we lost one player.

The second part of the day I could rarely ever find my squad (I was solo sadly) and recognizing them was already hard enough so I ended up running with another squad to avoid paying $50 to sit in HQ for a squad that I couldn't even recognize. I still followed squad rules when it came to returning to respawn and etc just ended up doing it with a different squad then was assigned. Sorry to staff/anyone this would annoy but Sky was already getting overwhelmed with issues and we figured it was an easy to fix problem that really wouldn't change the game very much for anyone else.

To globex, thank you for being awesome enemies. I had a blast all day and a large portion of that goes to you guys. Intense firefights all day and overall great sportsmanship makes for a great day of airsoft. Sorry for all the confusion with spawns and etc Its sad to hear that you guys had a rough time for a while there. Maybe to clear a bit of it up I can explain some of what I know.

At the start of the day when you guys moved out you were literally shooting us as our guys walked out the door. We could see you from our safe zone and it would have been impossible to get out. Sure impossible may be a bit extreme but I doubt it would have happened. From the times I was present anywhere near your spawns we were told to back off on the floor below you (in the tower) and the door going into the library and we did so until the last 10 minutes. We were looking for intel off of a few of your VIP's and couldn't find it, plus firefights were getting sparse at the end so we decided eh what the hell more trigger time for both sides. I also understand that a good portion of your guys left at lunch so I'm sure that just made it harder to push out/defend but thanks for the effort you guys made and if we go again I'm sure sky/jonah and everyone else will figure something out to make it better.

Honeslty spawns were my only real complaint worth noting to the staff but I'm not sure how much you guys could have done. The only thing you may have been able to do was stick one team in the tower and the other in the library and leave them there for the day. I'm not sure how much it will solve but more space may have helped. I know some of the times we pushed at the second half people didn't know were spawns were until they were already pushing into them.

anyways, thanks to everyone for showing up and to the staff once again for getting into the reformatory and giving us an amazing day. Also to the squad I ran with for most of the afternoon thanks for not outcasting me and I enjoyed playing with you guys. Hope to see you on the field again. (I know two names were Neal and Warcat not sure of the others.)

P.S. I planned on staying to help clean but my ride cancelled on me two days prior and I could only get one at 5. I made sure to pick up what I did see throughout the day and not leave a mess myself but thank you to those who did stay. As to having the cleanup fee I personally wouldn't be against it as long as it wasn't outrageous. I would have had to pay it there and would have been fine with it because I know others had to clean up for an event I was a part of, why should I help if in no other way that the almighty dollar?

I want to start off by saying I had fun overall and want to point out Blizzard and the squad in marpat that I had a shoot out with near the end on the east side were quality players that gave good sportsmanship and comments as they passed our dead carcasses. There were a lot of hit calling issues that I witnessed but not from those guys.

I also had a hint that someone was shooting hot, I caught a hit from about 40 feet that broke skin on my arm and let out a good amount of blood, kinda disappointing to hear people were breaking the FPS limits.

The location was cool but way too small and linear in my opinion. The only real vantage point was the entrances to the chapel looking down on the stairs, Im not sure If you expected this to be the globex main defense but it didn't work out that way.

I was very disappointed in the lack of objectives for globex, mainly because we were massively out numbered on neutral grounds. I only knew where 1 bomb was located so defending the others was impossible, the hostages were indefensible once the squads were tagged out and sent back to the spawn area only to be trapped there by delta literally shooting into our only door to exit (after the first incident in the morning the east side teams let delta cross bridge to the cat walks before engaging to make things a little more fare). Basically we were immediately screwed from the get go.

My suggestions would be to even out the teams or change the location to favor the outnumbered team. Give both teams attack and defend objectives, or at least give the defending team the option of raiding and getting their objectives back. Spawns were very evident so I think the point has been given on the benefits of having distance between the spawn areas.

Second half saved the game from being a complete disaster. The spawn points where a complaint as well as the lack of communication between organizers.
Didn't appreciate having firecrackers (illegal) thrown blindly down dark stairwells and blowing up in my teammates' faces.
All in all I had a fun day. Communication, less players, and different spawns and it would have been epic.

As organizers we live and learn through our players feedback and I appreciate everyone's thus far. We did discover where the comma breakdown in the morning came from. If you have watched the first part of evil heads footage there is a guy directing people to fall back and reset. This guy was Mansfield staff who we were told was there to observe only, little did we know he was criticizing players death to placements, giving orders out and causing 7 kinds of chaos. He was not OOBI staff and I was told by myth that after he saw it happen and got reports he stepped in and the issue stopped.

As for the fireworks, they were only for noise not meant to be grenades. As soon as I was told their was in issue they were stopped. Everyone was briefed to not throw at people just empty space as a distraction. Safety is always a concern and we try and do things as best we can and remove things that become unsafe on the spot. As big as the prison was we did everything in our power to remove and solve issues that were becoming unsafe. Again, appreciate the feedback and it teaches us valuable lessons moving forward

First off, thank you OOBI for putting this on. I saw the effort put in and it's nice to see that for an event like this. And it's always nice to get unique venues and creative places to place.

Now, while this is a cool place to play and definitely a must for me and the Nighthawks (so far), this is not a good place for airsoft. It is a prison, it's designed for choke points. And after attending all three events here, I've learned to accept that. There are narrow places to pass through, the stairs are hard to navigate, it's linear and not designed for flanking, etc... And this is on purpose! No guard wants to be flanked by inmates as they are executing their mastermind escape route.

Improvements to be made:

More staff - An event like this needs refs to diffuse situations (ie camping spawns). I felt like this was lacking and things took way to long to get worked out. We waited for about 10 minutes for a ref to tell Globex to get the heck away from the stairs so we could actually walk out and play.

Spawns - Where to start... Having Delta spawn in the staging area, horrid idea. This effectively eliminates the use of the entire cell block for Globex because the only stair entrances are on the interior... Right next to the Delta spawn! Whatever Stormblade did at the first two ops here worked way better (I forget exactly. But, I think they had teams spawn on opposite sides on the ground level)

Even teams - Especially here at this place. Did any Globex guys feel like they just kept getting pinned in their spawn rooms? Because, that's what it felt like on our side. Push them into their spawn and walk away because we are now camping them. That's not fun for either side...

Props were awesome! The bombs in the cases, kudos! Those were done very well and the fact they actually needed codes that were hidden on USB keys, great job.
Blackberries for codes and having to solve the puzzles, again, awesome.

CarRamRod and others who we fought at the end on the East side, always nice for a firefight, then mutual respect and kind words after the exchange of bb's.

Like I said, this is a fun place to play if done right. Unfortunately, I think this event fell a little short...

This was a awesome event ALOT of time and planning went into this to even make it happen so again thank you OOTBI.
The spawn points were what they were ? The whole building is nothing but funnels, choke points and stairwells that u can be shot at from 14 different directions so no matter where u would have spawned u would always be under fire. It was fine by me we had globe right outside our spawn many times also.
Fire crackers....also fine with me this is milsim I wish the live gunfire noise was there so then people could try to communicate through that. It was cool to me cause it simulated live gunfire and was nowhere near as loud as a thunder b.
The props were excellent and there was obviously a lot of time put into them so again thanks to OOTBI

What I see a lot of is people who show up to mainly show off the cool gear they have and sit in staging and stroke eachothers "egos". I litteraly saw people sleeping in staging during gameplay. Its supposed to be difficult, its supposed to be confusing, its supposed to be chaotic. People sit back and lack the drive to get the job done , or they don't pay ATTN. During mission brief then blame the EO for it .people need to man up and raise the bar of this sport because to some of us its more than a costume party

spot on Beard........I say more firecrackers would have been great (not Dropped in a Lap) but to add to the confusion or the fog of war as they say........and your right if you don't pay attention at the mission brief it's nobodies fault........more than once i heard SKY trying to get people to lower the noise..........if you fail to listen then it's on you..........I heard the briefing and i also know that Globex was outnumbered so they did the obvious.........we improvised and went out a different way.......fought our way through and got busy.........those steps were just as rough on me as everyone else but i did it..........and i have jell in my left knee.........there was alot of teams out there doing work and getting things done......one of the other things i noticed was in one of the earlier post's it was brought out that there was garbage left behind that the organizers had to clean up........this needs to be addressed by the individuals and team CO's/SL's if we are gonna be allowed to play at these different areas (WE) have to police up our own garbage and mess.......also confusion only adds to the event and the ref's did what they could with what they had.......I had heard some of the contractors complaining about being outnumbered and i told them to embrace it and make due with what you had and have fun ..........

Great event! Jonah, you did an excellent job in organizing and briefing. Very thorough and to the point, thank you for a job well done! Props and story were excellent and added plenty of depth to an otherwise shoot em up style game. The venue itself added so much challenge and chaos! Us carRAMROD guys are just a bunch of woodsmen and looking UP (way up) for enemies was completely new to us, but fun none the less.

From what I saw, sportsmanship was over all good. Squads by and large played fairly and honorably. However I saw some very very blatant deadmen pointing out the location of enemies to their squads by pointing lazers/flashlights and saying theres a guy there , and over there. I dont care if dead men talk to people, but that was pretty ridiculous! To the guy with the green lazer, you are a douche. The only thing you will accomplish with that thing is revealing yourself and where you are pointing. Another unpleasant display of bad attitude was at the end of the day when our spawn point was being raided, the response from the invaders when informed it was our spawn they were coming into was "I dont F***ing care." Way to be that guy, and that squad.

I was going to write abit on the short comings of the event structure (SPAWNS) but slowridn73 said it much better so I'll let his words speak for carRAMROD too;

You really nailed it there man. Completely summed up all the pitfalls of this event, which did not prevent the players having a lot of fun. Big thanks to all EO's, Role players, Staff, and the many many honorable squads we fought with and against. Congrats on a great event and we look forward to the next one :-)

The only problem I saw with the firecrackers was that they were being dropped down the west tower stairwell. They nearly landed on several people. I also saw one guy take a thunder b to the shoulder. But a eo can't completely prevent players unsafe actions.

Also not sure why sky stopped using the pa system for briefing I could hear fine at first.

A big thanks to the EO's it was a great AO, and props were amazing. Lot's of intense CQB. Although I really think it would have been better with fewer players.

Props to my fellow teammates we put in work, it's always a blast running with you guys.

Were you the guys that I fist bumped as I walked by. It was the fire fight on one of the upper floors of the east side, opposite of the tower. That was awesome and fun. It is definitely interesting trying to move up through that small of walk way. Having to be mindful of the suppressive fire from behind and ducking into a cell with a door barely big enough for me + CIRAS + gun when the opposing guns would stick out of the cells.

My reaction lines up with NH_Viper. I however did like the idea of how camo was done, with Tan and Green lining up against a conglomerate, however it would have been better if Globex was rocking all black and not the normal contractor of tan pants and black shirt, unless the camo was enforced more on the Delta side. There were several times where it was difficult to ID Friendlies vs OpFor. I know that is what the challenge password is for (I have never seen this fully work, as hard as we as a squad try) but when your sneaking or have the drop on a squad you don't want to yell a challenge that allows them to take cover.

Other than that is was an awesome event and helluva good time. It's always fun to play in the reformatory.

w00t, I'm a doucher now!!
Actually it worked exactly as planned with my green Laz, I'd hang back some as my battery was dying on the first run we had and pick out targets so the others in the squad could pick them off. You were shooting at me instead of my squadmates and since I was sitting out of your gun's range I got to help without feeling useless when my battery was dying.

After that I used it to cause people to withdraw. I'd see feet or guns coming around a corner, laz the floor and watch them pull back, letting the squad leapfrog ahead.

So if I was douching, sorry bro, I had my reasons

There's a reason why cheap green lasers are "douchey". There are a lot of cheap China ones that actually are dangerous to the eye. That said, a good pricier one with a good IR filter is safe. But if it's UTG, Leapers, or from any of the ACM airsoft sites, then good chance you're risking your opponents eyesight.

Yep, that was myself and I believe Car Ramrod was the squad I was with. It was a good shoot out and we did what we could with the few people we had, I was surprised how many of you went by, I had no idea how out numbered we were. Thanks again for the good comments and sportsmanship, pleasure to play with you.

AAR time. Well guys that Rocked ! Great CQB , great staging area, great game play.
Fire crackers are well....fire crackers. OOBI well done for the numbers and location. thanks for booking that place. Forsaken knights good to see you guys. OPFOR Globex dudes did a great job with low numbers. I liked the objectives.

Sure there were issues, Fog of war. War gets confusing. The key is to figure it out and shoot ,move, and communicate.

Delta: well done brothers. Beard and MILSOC you guys were supurb. Beard..thanks for picking up on the commo and working with A1 when Command was down.

Alpha 1 OSOT great job guys. It was an honor to fight at your side.

Alpha 2 great job !

I had a great time at the event.. I must say the most fun I had was with the Thunder b's... It made the event for me, chucking them in rooms then clearing or getting them thrown at me. Just bad a$$.

I had a one problem that I would like to verbalize, it had to do with spot checks. We were told that they were completely random, apparently someone shot through a lower face mask so spot checks commenced no big deal. What was a big deal to me was the targeting of p*s. OSOT got spot checked with every p* running BELOW 330. We asked around and no one we knew got checked, I guess some aeg was busting them out at like 380. Again an AEG haha. I must say I got pegged by one pretty good in the head, but that comes with the territory.

The sponsors really surprised me with the items. Z shot had ALOT of expensive stuff to give away, the other sponsors also gave out expensive stuff. I got a patch that was thrown up luckily, But I did see people with three things because some things were thrown up.lol

All in all a great day of airsoft, I will attend if we are lucky enough to play here again.. and will bring as many thunder b's as possible

EDIT: Forgot to add how sweet it was going into solitary! That was the first thing we did, even though it was a real quick thing it was a blast. If there is a next time, I would love to see the solitary area used alittle more.. nothing like going in guns blazing in almost complete haunted(haha) darkness.

Op Redemption II was a night game, and it is still to this day the best game I have ever had the privilege to play in!! With what OOBI learned from this op(just like storm blade learned from their first go here) I would say it would be just as epic or more at night. Providing the reformatory will allow another game in the future.
