real world game

So i have noticed that majority of airsoft is trying to do real world missions. So I have thought of two different ways to do that.

1. There could be 3 sides. Like a civil war with UN forces mixed in. 2 sides could be fight with the 3rd side trying to control them and deliver supplies/aid. They main goal would be 1 team controlling everything. The secondary goals could be certain areas and items. Water source, power grid, oil well, ammunition, food&water, explosive items, etc. There would be representatives from each side to decide victories like a real world war.

2. This is like what we do now in the military. 3 sides. 1st is the US or another country, 2nd is the country being trained, 3rd is a rebel group trying to control the country. It's a 2 on 1 game but the US has to keep an eye on the group they are training because they could turn. It kinda plays like the green on blue that was happening in the news. Not to make a game out of something bad but that's a real world game.

Now I don't know if anyone has played anything like this but would be something to consider. Please if anyone has anything to add do so. Would like to hear opinions about this.

I really like these ideas and, if well organized, sound like really fun games.

Snowblind 4 had all of those elements other than the training.

A lot of what you are discussing is done in the milsim events that are put on, the training idea I have not heard being done and would be interesting for sure.

Blind Fury 1 in 2003 was based on this concept. there are pros and cons to do it that way.
You will either love or hate it.

Sanctioning treason invites trolling.

Having the ability to side with whoever you want can quickly go to your head. Couple that with a lack of real consequences for your actions (most players don't care about event context), and why would someone NOT troll under those circumstances?

Just so everyone knows this was an idea about real world. This how stuff is done in the real military. There would consequences for an actions. It would be to decide the future of the game. Also it would go by experience but as assigned teams.

Does anyone have anything to add to the games? Like rules or anything else needed.

I agree with India. You would be hard-pressed to come up with a rule set that would prevent the massive trolling that would happen by making unplanned betrayal part of a game. Players would be too inclined to just shoot their "trainers" at a moment's notice. I personally can't think of a way to regulate this, but if you could come up with an effective way to do it, I think the game could be very interesting.

Some type of monetary system might help stop players betraying for the heck of it.

A supply of ammunition would help keep a trainee military on the right side.

Yeah I agree there needs to be some way to regulate. I'm going to plan out the final details but I'm looking for anyone to help with ideas. One way I started thinking was only have certain people that could turn if they decided. But also have advantages of each decision. Have them choose because it would effect their "life".

How about an event with an insurgent force that actually uses guerrilla tactics?

Yeah I was thinking a rebel group like that. Maybe have a few traitors in the trainee group but most of them are good. I was also giving it some thought and maybe have it be like a group of SF or small group of Americans with a large group of trainees and then a rebel group. Have it be a training session with attacks but then points could go two different ways and the US has to investigate to figure out the traitors.

I have thought of trying real props involved in a game. Using real terrorist techniques.

I was going to have a select few people be traitors. Have two sides fighting with advisors helping teach them. Then the selected can choose to turn or stay.
