- M249 Type New Type Electric Switch. (This AEG still takes any other brand complete gearboxes, but comes with the Advanced ARES gearbox.)
- High quality fiber / abs stock, handguard, motor grip. (Realistic and robust finish.)
- M4 LE type retractable stock.
- Railed upper receiver with detachable carrying handle.
- Adjustable Hopup.
I'm not going to do a full review, but here are a few points you might find interesting.

HOPUP
Hopup adjustment is made easier, and more realistic. Racking the charging handle both drops open the dust cover and locks back the fake bolt, exposing the hopup adjustment wheel. When youíre satisfied with the setting, use the bolt release lever to release the fake bolt and enable closing of the dust cover. NOTE: the dust cover cannot be closed until the bolt is closed. It seems like a lot of engineering to go into such an insignificant sub-system, but I canít knock them for doing it, and everyone Iíve showed it to has been very impressed.

PISTON SPRING
Changing the piston spring no longer requires opening the gearbox. Instead, remove the buffer tube and the spring guide can be taken straight out the rear of the receiver. It would be a bit tricky to do in the middle of a game, but itís a greatly appreciated improvement to gearbox design.

REAL STEEL COMPATIBILITY
The buffer tube is interchangeable with real steel components. However, whether this is a benefit or a liability will be based on your supply of real versus airsoft stocks.

BARREL
The M4a1 ships with a tight-bore barrel, although I donít have an inside micrometer, so I canít say how tight it is, and I can't find a measurement anywhere. What I can say is that it was shooting better, out of the box, than the manually upgraded rifles that my team tested it against.

COMPLAINTS
My only complaint is the use of set screws to secure the barrel into the receiver flange (the piece that the delta ring screws onto). The screws were a little loose out of the box, but it was easy enough to remove the hand guard and, one at a time, Lock Tite them into position. NOTE: you do not have to remove the delta ring to access these set screws.
