honestly if you can do the mod right you dont need to get a new cylinder set up. the stock cylinder can do just fine. though, IMO, it would be wiser to get the teflon cylinder and air nozzle to ensure you gun works right and you dont have a tiny leak.

the plus side is it saves you over $100.

theres a bunch of guides for how to do the mod, just look it up.

I was looking around the internet and one (and only one that I found) person said that if you get the zero trigger you need to cut the trigger guard. Is this true? Also many people brought up that they heard that silent dampers cause unreilable velocity, but no one actually said if they did or not. Does anyone know what the deal is on this? The silence is one of the biggest reasons I'm looking to get a G-spec over say, an APS2.

i removed my silence dampener, and my gun is shooting fine as ever and very very quiet. ive not heard that issue about the zero trigger, but I do not have a zero trigger installed. i would assume that you do not need to cut anything if you get the zero trigger for the TM VSR10.

Ok thanks. The person said that in order to get the zero trigger on he had to cut the trigger guard, but I doubt that Laylax would make it that way. If it doesn't add that much I'll just skip the silent damper. Thanks again!

it is a fact that the silent damper will give your rifle a larger FPS variance AND hurt your expected fps. my vsr shoots about 470fps and with the damper in it would be about 450fps.

ya, laylax is BA when it comes to VSR parts, so I seriously doubt youd have to do any modding to the body. the only necessary modding I know of is the removal of the cylinder head.

Your going to have to quote what you are talking about, I am not sure what parts you are referring to. If you mean the sears, no, if you get a zero trigger, you will not need new ones because it comes with reinforced sears. If you mean piston, cylinder, etc. for upgraded fps, no, you will still want those.

i was browsing around and decided to recheck the forum and i know this is a little late for the original poster but i figured for future readers it needs to be here. there was a question as too wether or not you had to cut the trigger gaurd to install the zero trigger and the answer is yes. i had to hack off the front end that latches onto the old trigger up from the bottom of that to where the front gets skinny then widens again. its not difficult. just hack a littla at a time.

egh, better late then never.

So I got a Laylax piston set and a pdi spring that will push around 570fps as well as a pdi spring guide and a Laylax trigger sear set what else am I missing to make this work? Is the stalk piston sear going to be ok for a game till my Laylax one comes in or is it a must?

If the stock sears go while you're cocking that powerful of a spring, you'll end up the a busted lip in the best case scenario. Worst case, you'll probably knock out a few teeth or break your jaw. It's not worth the risk in my opinion.
