(A mod that Moose was able to do I found out today.) Well, Moose gave me his Magpul PTS stock that he wasn't using, and I set to work installing it on the Scar. Looks decent, I just have to invest in a stick Lipo now that will fit in the buffer tube. The cranestock battery fits for now, butjust barely. So, if anyone has a buffer tube stick lipo that they want to part with, shoot me a PM. In the meantime, this is what it looks like now..

I also found out, this scar was one of the first ones sold in Ohio. It's serial number is 0000163 !!!! How about that for a piece of Airsoft history that is STILL racking up the tags on the field!
Funny, my WE Scar has a serial number of 00000016, so it must be the 16th one manufactured. They do have a unique serial number, I believe. I guess I must have an "Airsoft Artifact" too.
Plus it's the Closed Bolt, which are the originals. ;D

JG AUG, painted and upgraded a bit.

Dat foreshortening:

The paint actually matches MARPAT colors, which is nice.

Upgrades:
Madbull 6.03mm TBB
Madbull Blue Bucking
G&P Metal Hop-up unit
Guarder unported cylinder
M115 spring (don't remember brand)
Aluminum cylinder head
Sorbo pad

And if anyone wants to donate a barrel mount bipod...

Which color / brand of paint did you use for the brown on that AUG?

Nutmeg Rustoleum, but you have to do a little bit of black overspray on it to get it just right.

Outstanding paint job. Is there special paint you need to buy for doing camo like that? Isn't there special types of spray paint for both metal and plastic?

Thanks

I actually didn't get any "special" paint for this. I know it exists, I was just too cheap/lazy to get some, plus I didn't paint any significant metal parts of my gun.

It's just the kind of spray paint you'd find in a craft store or Walmart. All the paint was either Krylon or Rustoleum, and the clear coat was Rustoleum.

One of the original ARES SL9s. Everything internally has been replaced. And I mean everything. Finally *heavy sigh* finished my project gun. Had to keep the hop-up a stock Echo 1 because the 5ku aluminum one caused too many misfeeds. It looks great with the Beta c-mag, too

did AAA tow your gun when you needed to remove the 5KU hop?

Finished 2-tone woodland. Created a new stencil and tried a different method, I'm happy with the turnout.
