I can't believe people didn't want to play in the rain last weekend. Hell. That's the best time to play. Hope it rains again.

Depending on players, and how long they are willing to play. Might not close at all if we have players willing to play in the winter

I have hockey practices in an outdoor rink at 5 AM in the middle of winter. Cold no longer effects me .

I'd be in for winter games.

I'm definitely willing to play in the winter. Also, depending on how my comms situation works out, I'll be there again this coming Sunday. (I was the newbie last Sunday)

We have more "no's" than "yes's"...what the hell people! This is gonna be a good weekend weather-wise too! Plus keep in mind...those of you who are not a member of SL or BTT will not be able to play next weekend either as that will be closed for an all day battle between the two teams. Hope to see you guys this sunday!

I'm willing to play in the winter. Thats how I started my airsoft experience. Playing night games in the snow around the hood.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BOOT! AND CONGRADS. Are ya going for another 12?

Here's a downed pilot scenario I think we can try if we get enough people.

1. First, the enemy goes out to the north spawn right up to the fence and waits.
2. The downed pilot goes out and chooses a place to hide. He just has to be a good sport in choosing his spot. When he's ready, he radios "game on."
3. The rescue team will start from the safe zone.

Objectives:
pilot rescue team: return to your starting point with the pilot safe.
Enemy: kill/capture him and prevent rescue.

I was also under the impression that the 2nd would be an open game. I not sure how many players from BTT will be showing up, so if it is an open game we can have your guys vs BTT and use anyone else to help even the sides out. Will you be posting the 2nd up on AO as an event?

As for you guys that want to be in the Airsoft polar bear club; you may not mind the cold but the guns don't preform well in cold conditions. The batteries don't last as long and gas guns are useless. The cold also makes the plastic brittle and more likely to break.

im hoping that the 2nd is open play. and i really look forward to playing with the BTT guys. from what Falcon told me of their field, and the people their, it sounds quite nice.

about the downed pilot/ rescue scenario. it sounds great but i think it may be better off with a blow up doll (serious) as a doll/ manikin cannot choose favorites over what side they are on. simply have someone who is not playing go hide the manikin and when they get back to the safe zone the teams go to their starting positions then start.

we could also do a VIP scenario. where one team (Special Forces) goes back to the fence with the VIP and must escort him/her to the safe zone. the other team (terrorists/ guerrillas), must try to eliminate the VIP before reaching the safe zone. would involve a lot of teamwork. also the VIP would be identifiable by his/her gear. he would wear different camo than the rest, maybe tiger stripe or desert, and would only be allowed a pistol or bolt action rifle, or would have to carry a suitcase/ briefcase.

the terorists would have to wear something non-camo. like a solid color t-shirt (black, brown, or green) so teams would be distinguishable and they would not be allowed to use radios. they would also find it a lot harder to hide.

spec. ops team would be allowed radios and whatever else.

no respawns, no cmags except for SAWs.

The game this weekend is still open right? Oh, and what are SL and BTT? Sorry for all the questions but I'm relatively new to NE Ohio.

SL = Shadow Legion this is Walsh Farms' 'home team' if you will.

BTT = Backyard Tactical Training. dont know the name of their team (could be BTT) but they play at a different field most of the time and are coming down to play at Walsh.

and the game this week is open. you are more than welcome to come but please read over the airsoft ohio general rules. the link is at the very top of every page, slightly right of center.

Thanks for the name clarification, and about the AO rules- I've been playing airsoft in Ohio for over a year and have read those rules more times than I can count or like to for that matter. If I come off as an ***, I apologize as I don't intend to, but I've been treated like a complete n00b a lot up here and I'm getting rather sick of it.

yea, i will talk to the guys about it but maybe it will be better to have the 2nd open after all. If only a handful of people show up from BTT it might not be a very good turnout. What we WILL do though is keep the same teams the whole day. This means that whoever shows up from SL and whoever shows up from BTT will be on opposing sides all day. Any others that come to join the fun will be split evenly among the two teams and will remain there. This way it is fair, there will be less confusion, and less problems identifying who is on your team. So unless my people agree otherwise, September 2nd will be OPEN TO ALL, AND MANY BETTER COME!!! And yes this weekend is obviously open.

EDIT: Also, perhaps we will incorperate some of these new scenario ideas for the 2nd. I like both ideas of the pilot and the VIP. We need someone to bring a manikin (spelling) though. Casey...bring your blow up doll. This will make it more realistic too, if the rescue forces find the "pilot", they must carry him/her to the safe zone...the person doing the carrying shall not use a weapon unless he sets the pilot down first! So those on his side must protect the pilot and his/her carrier. I even have an extra flight suit I can bring to put on the doll.

person carrying the manikin/ blow up doll shouldnt be able to run in my opinion. this way they would need to be escorted by the team, or have the team hold the enemy off while the manikin is returned to safety.

exactly. no running and no shooting by the person doing the carrying. does anyone even have a said manikin? if no one has one...what could we use? hey demonic, you changed your rsvp to "got a new job, still gonna make it"...does this mean you're coming now or no?
