I had considered trying to figure it out, but I personally do not know the average life expectancy of gears and internals. I'm thinking of including gas prices too if you used a gas gun. It would be easy to do.

Internals would be an iffy subject about price, because prices can differ with each person. If internals are well taken care of, the price of each shot would obviously lower. If the internals weren't taken care of, the sooner they would wear out, therefore they would be replaced sooner, thus costing more than if they were taken care of. I'm sure there would be a way to figure it out, but that'd require testing. I could test two different springs, two different sets of gears over time, but unfortunately that'd cost money, which I don't have at the moment to spare for a test of that sort.

I may put some time into researching some of this stuff. I thought I'd just start out with BB costs first.

I know a person who's actually doing just that red.

He's been trying out different parts for going on at least a year possibly two now.

If he comes up with anything down the road I'm sure he's going to pass it on.

Notice how the tracers are most expensive. (Well yes, they're tracers.)

I guess to compensate, buy black bbs and for every 5 black bbs, put in a white BB to make a tracer effect? (Sorry off-topic)

But yep, it quickly adds up. My buddy and I were talking about how he was going to get a grenade launcher, but did the math for a particular shell, and everytime he'd be paying I think $2-3 dollars to shoot it, which is why he didn't buy it. (He tries to conserve money for BBs)

None the less, good post.

Red, BG... the numbers you two present amuse me, confuse me, and generally make me think (not good, seeing as I work at 4 am and don't go back to bed, but that's another story).

I'd hate to think how much more I'd tack onto my already growing expenses by becoming my team's rifle grenadier after BB's, propellant, and gear wear; given our four times a month schedule, with several games, I'd be looking at $30 a week easily. O_o

well thats a cool idea but how am i going to load my AEG mags with a quick loader and but a white BB in every 5 shots. it would work for a manually loaded mag but it wouldn't be very time efficient.

Whoops! Definitely got that one wrong. Just had to move the decimal point one spot more.
