spring loaded rpg rocket launcher

I was thinking that, what if an airsoft company made an rpg-7 or any rocket launcher actually shot the rocket. Maybe, they could have you open up the rocket head, fill it with some bb's, then at fill it with gas at the bottom of the rocket head so when you pulled the trigger, a hammer (which would reset after every time you locked the the rocket into place) would hit an air nozzle, making all of the gas come out of the rocket and propel it, then in mid flight all of the bb's come out in a shotgun type form making the rockets reusable. I think that would make the rocket launchers more impressive than what they are now.

It's bad enough getting hit in the face with BB's, imagine taking a rocket to the face. No field owner would allow this as the insurance to cover it would be ridiculous.

i was talking about for backyard fun and plus you wouldn't get hit with the rocket, the bb's would have been expelled out of the rocket after about 3 sec. It would fly open like a resuable hand grenade

Why not just use an m203? You get that same effect and there are lots of options available.

Well built launchers do what they are meant to, take out vehicles at events. Stormtrupr's custom built AT4 is pretty impressive with Nerf Rockets.

Plus, your idea sounds extremely complex.. what if the rocket doesn't open and it hits somebody? Could cause injury.

Go on YouTube and type Airsoft nerf launcher.

They do make RPGs that fire M203 grenades or foam rockets. They are expensive, but homemade ones are very doable and cheaper. The problem is, it would be difficult to have the BBs come out of the warhead. Also, any mechanism to open up would probably add too much weight and make it dangers if it hit someone.

Well if you are using it for "backyard fun", I would be concerned about a neighbor or someone driving and seeing some person walking around with a looks-to-be RPG-7 on their shoulders. I would use an M203 already stated and keep everything in a case until an event comes up.

I'm sorry I just wouldn't take the chance of that. Besides you never know if authorities would get invloved. But that's my opinion on this.

Yeah, but you are assuming people are smart, history proves otherwise.

Your putting to much faith in people as far as common sense goes. True as it may be that you can't readily go out and buy a real rpg, most common people don't know that. Play it safe, assume that every body doesn't know better and you be fine.

It's too bad someone does not make something like that.

I imagine you could make the warhead out of foam with some light reinforcement inside of it to give it weight and stability.

If you really wanted one try to make a straight single sized pipe Pneumatic rifle and use a nerf vortex as your rocket, and an electric ball valve to release the air, it wouldn't be to difficult and wouldn't be terribly dangerous (A nerf football projectile). Just my 2 cents.

Yeah man.....personally had some bad experiences when I was younger when the authorities got involved. Its one thing to have an airsoft gun pointed at you out on the field, its another thing to have three real guns pointed at you telling you to put your hands up. The guys are right man, you cant trust that other people arnt going to get concerned. Be safe, and be smart. The worst thing ever is to hear about someone getting wrapped up in stuff just because they wanted to have some fun.

We made a homemade rocket launcher. It used CO2 to propel bbs or anything we wanted out of the top. We just made different nozzles for different guns. Just use some PVC and metal piping with a valve and it should work perfectly. There are some videos on You tube. They only problem was that most airsoft places will not let you take out with you because they don't trust that you're hands can build something that is 100% safe (or that's what I have been told). So unless you get it verified, the backyard is the only place you can use it. (It still makes me laugh how ignorant people are and how the simplest of math equations can PROVE the safety of the design, but I digress).

That's funny, I used google, which must be some new search engine thing, and it gave me a link to this cool video! I was shocked to find relative application stated by the OP. All sarcasm aside, this is about as practical as you're gonna get. (Just what I've found so far.)

EDIT: It's not spring loaded, but it has a good design. 'Tis close enough
