I have a VFC AK74 and a WE M9. I was wondering how to carry these during a game. I already have a holster for an M9 and an extra magazine, but how do I switch from primary to sidearm without dropping my gun on the floor. I also have an extra mag for the ak, but I only have one. I dont want to waste money on a vest when I only have one extra mag to carry. Where would I carry this extra mag? I want to have like tactical camouflage clothes, so do you think these would come with pockets? Im just confused with what to buy gear wise(by the way, these are going to be my first camo clothes, I usually just wear jeans and a jacket. Thats why Im so confused with everything.) Thanks for any help you can give me

Yes, generally all camo will have pockets and you could put a mag in them. For transitioning from your primary to your secondary you could just buy a sling. They are very inexpensive depending on what kind you buy.

Okay for starters you need a sling. Dont ask me which one to buy, its your thing do what you want to do. Secondly, You are going to need a vest/rig at somepoint or another so its not a waste of money. Infact it will protect your stuff and you. I can tell you are not prepared to spend any serious amount of money on airsoft and thats going to bite you in the *** sooner or later. Not trying to be mean, its just how it is.

Im trying to say that it would look pretty stupid to have like a molle vest and then have only one mag pouch on it. Thats why Im trying to find an alternative way to carryy it(by the way I have bought two gas blow backs and two aegs which are jg sig 552 and vfc ak74 so i am prepared to spend money on airsoft.)

Then, buy some more mags and pouches. You will need them eventually if you really want to play.

Like the others have said, it's great to have a nice weapon, but what's the point without an adequate amount of mags to shoot it? I would just dump out the extra cash and grab a vest and some more mags. You will need them.

Brother trust me, you need more mags!!!! I promise, you start playing in these 100 + open plays and ops and things of that nature and your gonna need everyone of those 8-24 mid caps on you.
PS: make sure you get mid caps. Most games and styles don't let you field with high capacity magazines. Just friendly advice. I have some sites for tac gear if your interested just PM me bro. Hope this helps a bit!

You could tape your magazines together like in the movies. (like this guy had an AK and he taped his magazines together and was all like - ratatatatatatatat! And then he popped the mag out and was like - whoa....)And when you get your 8-24 midcaps, just tape them all together in one big continuous chunk of magazines.
Also, if you can't afford gear, you could probably just make it from a roll of Duct tape ($4-$7). You can make a vest and one giant pocket for your giant midcap mag. And if you buy camo duct tape, you can cover your blue jeans with it, too. You can also make a sling from duct tape and since duct tape is waterproof, you can make some jungle boots (you know those like really cool boots they wore in the jungle and stuff) from it. And goggles, you can cover your eyes with the tape too, you can just buy some shooting glasses ($4-$7) like from walmart and tape them to your head, like all the way around. Awesome. No need to spend very much money at all on gear and stuff. Just buy a roll of duct tape.

A molle vest is a platform. You build upon this according to what you need. If you can and you dont want to spend alot of cash. Go to a local Surplus Store or Flea Market and pick up a Utility belt. Then you can attach a mag pouch and canteen. You can get these very cheap. Priority one is Water. Canteen or Hydration Bladder. Then go from there. You dont have to have it all in one night.
Make a list of needs and wants. Needs outway wants.

AS Chief saide, check out some surplus ALICE gear. A pistol belt with a pouch or two and a canteen will work fine and won't cost you much at all. As you add more weight to the belt, you can add suspenders to support the belt.

I could choose to run around with 16 mags and whatever else at an event but I may look like a fool, I may loose them while running, I may be noisier from the mags clanking together, my reloading time may be slower and I'll get my empty mags mixed up with my loaded mags, but if I am satisfied with it, than thats fine. If you can do all that and be satisifed that you saved some 150 bucks on a vest, thats completely fine too! It's all up to you. There are also alot of advantages with having a vest, your equiptment is secure, you can reload your gun faster w/o fumbling for a mag, your empty mags are separate from your loaded mags, you can carry your water easier, some quick draw sling attach to the vest, you get to choose your pouches and where you want them (On a MOLLE vest), etc. There are so much more reasons why a vest is useful. That's just my two cents, 203

As some have already stated you forgot about carrying water. However i will go about answering you questions. how do you carry your mags and how do you transition on an ak without dropping it.
Ak series weapons are meant to be slung with a two point sling. This is because the entire body of an ak is treated as a weapon. It should not be on a gun hanger. The weapon should be fired unslung. So now how do you properly transition to your side arm from this position? Assuming you are right handed: When you want to switch to your side arm 1. Ak slung on left side 2. Take your left arm and wrap it around the magazine of the ak. The mag should be resting in the "elbow pit" and your left hand should now be touch the back of the pistol grip where your shooting hand (right hand was) 3. As you feel the weight of the weapon shift towards your left hand reach with your right hand to produce your side arm. 4. once the pistol is in aiming position you can engage targets one handed or support with your left hand. 5. if you intend to leave your secondary out? (eliminate threat with secondary first) With your left arm in the position mentioned earlier (elbow pit magazine, left hand pistol grip) Raise the weapon over your head while catching the single point with your chin once the weapon is high enough to feel the sling on your chin simply drop it backwards and gravity will take care of everything. Read careful and practice soon you will notice a fluid motion. as far as the mags just tape them together and use a dump pouch that is on a belt that you've also attached canteens to ![]() there are also ak mag change tutorials out there and fighting techniques. Look around it will be fun. Those vfcs are nice good pick there. mag change http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fz5LPaMhlOc found the transition vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sB96L...eature=related here is more tasty stuff from the same guy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3XCMNYMHFM&NR=1

However, if you don't want your pistol on your chest, you could just get a basic chest rig and a holster. Once you start getting more mags, the Chest Rig will help you out a lot. This Chest Rig is inexpensive and contains pouches for your many needs. Example: Chest Rig Then for your pistol, you can usually find a cheap holster to work for now. Usually, some holsters have a slot for a mag. Example: Holster In the end, the Crossdraw and the Chest Rig/Holster are about the same price but it is just preference of which one works the best.

Hey you could always go with a commando style chest rig. Same type of rig that Timnis already said.
They usually have 3 mag pouches and a dump pouch. Plus their normally inexpensive and you could always use them for a friend once you save up to buy a vest you like. For the water carrier they have hydration bladders with the outer carrying case that has handles. Also pretty cheap. They have MOLLE style straps and MOLLE Webbing all over it so later you could incorporate it to your vest. Also if you don't get MOLLE you can always use the backpack straps that come with it. Now I know its not the best equipment in the world and later on you will have to replace them or upgrade but its a quick fix for about 50 bucks and another option for you to consider.
