AAR OP Firestorm

Man, when i found the nuke with only 4 seconds left i though man i got this, i'm going to win the game. Then when my finger was ready to stop the timer at 2 second's that pop pop and 2 rounds hit me in the ***. Dam that was a let down!

A big congat's to wraith and team chaos for a well done event. I had a great time airsofting. Looking forward to the next chapter in the game.

Nothing but good sportsmanship all around. Thanks to all that played.

Thank you Wraith and team chaos for hosting a great event it was alot of fun.

Black se7en you getting shot and the bomb going off was probably the only thing that went right for the KLA team. Jackson sorry I dropped out of the recon squad it looked like KLA could use some more help.

Swervin it was alot of fun running with you for most of the day. Sorry about getting hit so fast when we retook the barn. Though i doubt it made a difference, it was fun to do.

Woo, fun and tiring day, we won and lost,KLA got the nuke off but we died as well in the blast. Tried out my homemade claymores, but my own dead team mates set them off, that was a disappointment.

Wraith and team chaos for hosting a great game. Thanks

To be fair to those team mates that set them off, we had no idea that they were there.

What a day guys.

Well, as it turns out, Project: Firestorm was a contingency plan for a much larger operation. Operation: Blast Furnace was written with the aid of Soviet Advisors. The plan was to detonate two nuclear devices near the U.S. base at Kwan. This was seen as an act of retaliation towards the U.S. for their involvement in Afghanistan. However, having discovered a U.S. operative in the area, they realized they would need to buy a little more time in order to arm the warheads. Project: Firestorm was meant to buy that time. Meaning to distract the U.S. troops away from the real threat of the nuclear weapons, Firestorm was made to look as if the bomb in question were conventional.

The plan worked. While western forces were busy locating the key, KLA engineers put the finishing touches on the actual bombs and was able to start the countdown. The KLA fought a long and hard battle to keep the US busy. In the end, the might of the US forces proved to be overwhelming and Firestorm looked to be a failed plan. But by the time the US became aware of the nukes, the timer had counted down to 15 minutes. Black Se7en, Commander of the US forces in Kwan; In an act of bravery and selflessness, decided to try and take the nukes and save the countryside. Again, the might of the US forces proved overwhelming. eventually the KLA had to fall back. The US had secured the sight where the bombs were supposed to be located but had trouble finding them. With 4 seconds left on the countdown, Black Se7en himself discovered the bomb and rushed to stop the timer. But at the last second Swervin', Field Commander for the KLA; shot and killed Black Se7en. And the nukes were detonated. Noone survived the blast. Noone, that is, except for Slipknot. He was never captured and managed to make his escape.

US Forces- You guys completed almost every task given to you. You fought tenaciously, but you were unable to locate, capture, or escort Slipknot from the field. You also were unable to disarm the nukes, which in the end cost you guys the game. However, you guys did one heck of a job. Good job Black Se7en and all the US troops.

KLA- You guys started off fairly strong. But due to gun breakdowns, you ended up being steam rolled toward the end. However, you guys were successful in slowing the US down enough to allow the timer to run out on the nukes. Technically you guys won. Though there are none of you guys left alive to celebrate. This may be viewed as a loss as well.

Had a blast watching you guys today. I want to thank everyone for coming out and giving us a chance at our first attempt at milsim. As Black Se7en said, this was milsim lite. We took it as a huge learning experience. Right from the beginning we started having problems. First with our website, then other things started going wrong. Finally ending yesterday when I realized I shoulda been out at the field around 6:00 to set things up. I cut alot out of the scenerio in order to keep it running smoothly. Had I given myself more time to set up I may have been able to have left some of those things in. We found out we need a little more organization at registration. Lots of things were realized today. We are still a few milsim lite games away from where I would like to be. But we will get there.

Thanks to Black Se7en and Swervin', Without your help in orchestrating this would've been impossible.

Thanks to all the KLA members we were outnumberd and had no medics but we still managed to keep the U.S. busy.

Ace good to have your SAW support all day, it didn't make much of a difference when we retook the barn. But it was a lot of fun until the U.S. surrounded us.

Black Se7en well done you guys ran over us as you competed your objectives. Sorry about the a** shot, I couldn't let our nuclear plans fail.

Oddjob good to see you make it out, sorry about the friendly fire.

Well written Kevin, I'm looking forward to helping make the next chapter happen. I'll be glad to see it on the Circleville field, thorn free and flat will be nice.

Guys, I have been laughing about that ending all weekend. You couldn't have gotten a better ending in the movies. That was just too perfect and the fact that it was unplanned to happen that way made it that much better.

I also don't know how many caught it, but Maximus at the beggining of the day was wearing a Slipknot sweat shirt. He wasn't even aware af the significance of the name to the game until I told him. Then to draw his name out of the hat naming him Slipknot...unbelievable!

Talking Good times were had by all + feedback

About those claymores, I tripped over them after your guys set them off. (I was dead at the time as well). So I was either extra dead or just a klutz.

One suggestion though, make sure that every body has a red rag(perhaps when you chrono or check goggles), and uses it. For local (IE just "our" team or practice) games not using red rags are cool, because everybody knows everybody (IE Stevie-joe or jimbob yells out and every body knows he is out as they know his voice). But, when you have blokes from all over the place and do not use a rag, it is like asking to be lit up anytime a baddie sees you. To be honest, it would not be the entirely the blokes fault who bonus balled you anyhow, since you did not do your part to ensure you were obviously out ( I have two red rags, sometimes make little flags and play harmonica with a slung gun, they can see me and hear me)

This is especially important for minors to. I allmost lit up a kid looked like he was 12 because he popped out of no where from the barn with no rag, luckily he had his hand over his mouth and seemed to be too busy wandering to be threat. (Hand over mouth kid if you read this bring that rag I gave you to all your nonlocal games, trust me...)

Aside from the trouble telling the in play blokes from the out of play chaps, I thought the event went really well. For the most part people were really professional and good sports. I never saw anybody get hit who was out with a rag on (something that BFV had problems with). I would defiantly play with team CHAOS again, and I believe I speak for my whole group on that.

I agree with ya 100% about the red rags, eagle. That is something we probably should've checked at registration.

One problem I did notice on that lines though and I don't know how to fix it; I was laying in the village because the area was under attack. One of the US forces had worked his way up into the village from the south ("fuel depot" area) and was hit. He put his rag on his head...but from the angle I was at, (I was looking through some small trees at him) I could not make out his rag because of the red leaves. I eventually asked him to step out of that area for that reason. He kept getting shot even though he was dead and had his rag on. That was one of two occasions I seen that happen.
Both instances were near the village. I think it was because of all the low trees in that area. I honestly don't have a clue on a solution to that problem unless we make everyone sit/lay down after they've been hit.

I appreciate the input eagle, it is noted we need to specify to bring red rags. Something I would have never thought about. Next time I will make it a point to specify that. Thank you, sir.

Also once again, you guys done one heck of a job keeping the trash contained to one or two areas. You don't know how much something like that is appreciated by both our team and the landowner himself. Thank you everyone.

I think the guy you were talking about was squad's my snipper. He was real good at getting shot at in really weird hard to see spots. You should have tried healing the bloke... But I digress.

Really as far as being out and having people not necessarily see you, there is not a whole hell of a lot you can do aside from be loud when you call out and wear a rag. I would suggest that people be as obvious as possible. I usually only sit down if I am in the way of an active firefight (live people tend to sneak close to the ground, or I could potentially get tripped on/stepped on). Nobody who is in is gonna be standing straight up when there is ample cover. I also sling my gun as well. A couple times at BFV I was taken out while in the tall grass near the arty I had a guy from the other team see just my green shoulder (did not ID his target properly tisk tisk) and take quite a few potshots at me. I eventually just pulled up one of the stalks of grass/reed tied my second rag to the top and tucked the bottom of the makeshift flag into my pistol belt. I had a five foot tall don't waste your ammo I am dead flag flapping in the breeze over my head. It worked pretty well, but was overkill. I just remember and tell the blokes on my team, when ever people shoot at you when you are dead do not get super upset, just let them know you are out, maybe move out of the area so you can be seen as out/et out of the way (all though that makes you hard to heal but...) Unless it is a real repeat offender, then I do not know, talk to the advisor. Either way communication and patients seem to be the hallmark of this sport or so I am rapidly finding out.

I've seen this in almost every event i've been to. People using hit players as picks or sheilds. It's a *****ty thing to do but some players still do it. Now i'm not saying this is all that happened but i'm sure it went on. It happens more so in and around buildings. If you should find your self in this kind of situation i think the hit player needs to move out of the fire lane and wait for medical help.
