GMR Banned from OLCMSS

Was kind of surprised no one has posted this up on here yet:

http://www.oplionclaws.com/phpBB/vie...p?f=112&t=5343

If any of you have ever had the displeasure of dealing with Green Mountain Rangers at national events, you'll be pleased to hear that they've now been banned from all events hosted by OLCMSS, MindGames, and American Milsim events.

Was anyone out at LCXII to know any details on what finally broke the camels back?

What's sad is the fact that it's usually kids who get stereotyped for getting in trouble on the field. I'm not saying that doesn't happen, but these guys are grown men. And from what I've heard, a lot of people get away with a lot of things at OLCMSS events (too hot guns, not calling hits etc - although I was told that a while ago) - so you know GMR must have done something to have finally thrown them over the edge.

Good point Jables.

All I can say is praise the freaking lord. These guys:
-Disrespected a military official (McKnight)
-Went out of the AO
-Broke windows
-Climbed roofs
-Rappelled off of stuff
-Shot the living sh#t out of everyone
-Didn't call their shots
There are many reasons, and I could go on for a while, but I am glad they got banned. They are a disgrace to the communtiy and make Airsoft look like a bunch of arrogant butt-holes, so to speak.

I'm pretty sure they told Col. (I think he is a Col.) McKnight that he was bad at hosting events, etc. and if they want their own rules, they should make their own game, rather than playing at other places.

Airsoft is inherently dramatic. Still, it was a shame to see that kind of behavior on the field. I wish I didn't have to see and experience the confrontation. Event Organizers have taken steps they believe necessary to ensure conduct like that doesn't find its place in the community. Leave the negative talk to EOs, and try to maintain an optimistic view of Airsoft's future. Besides, I'm sure GMR is loving the publicity right now.

Yes, I have, the past two Irene's I had bad interactions with them on and off the field. For example, last year at Irene we outnumbered and wiped them out of a building. Instead of heading to respawn, we watched every darn one of them just walk around the side the building and starting pushing right back into the building. Hit calling is a joke to these guys. Off the AO, they decided they didn't need to put their trash in cans when packing up. We went through 3 - 30 gal trash bags just to pick up after those slobs. Mind you this was on a military base that we were guests at...

All in all, I believe the Airsoft Community is one of the best group of people to be around. Yeah, every now and then you'll get that one A-hole..But so what? That's always going to happen. I don't see anything negative in Airsoft's future, either - so long as every retains the minimum level of common sense.

I'm sure they're not going to be enjoying the fact that they're not going to be able to play on too many fields anymore They'll enjoy this infamy while it lasts, but not when they literally have to resort to playing in their own backyards. Then they'll be dealing with the police.

I may never have met these guys, but just listen to some of the people that have met them. Watch GMR's videos. If you were there, think about how you would feel when the entire team you just wasted ammo on just came back for a second round without even respawning or getting medic'd. I may have never been hit by a car before, but if I watch a video of someone getting hit by a car, I'm going to imagine it must hurt.

So like I said...inherently dramatic. Obviously I wouldn't get out every other week to play if I hated the people who airsoft. People who airsoft have big egos; big egos lead to feuds. If you've been around long enough, saying airsoft is inherently dramatic is obvious.

I say try to maintain optimism; because if you look at the GMR group page/ Lion Claws page, it's nothing but people crap talking as GMR has. Not much positive or constructive. That's why I say keep it positive, and let the EOs do the enforcing and public denigration. If you've followed GMR's page, you can see GMR is loving the haters. They probably have a list of their favorite wall posts. I wonder how many page hits they've had this week. So again I reiterate, let the EOs do the talking, and keep the drama out as best as can be.

Heads up, I didn't say that third quote. I did however talk to a bunch of them on Saturday. Some cool dudes, some total stiffs...either way after watching them disrespect Col. McKnight, my opinion of that team was made.

You're going to have people picking sides. Haters of GMR and followers. But yeah, I see what you mean and I agree that we should leave the drama to the EOs.

I was also mainly talking more about our local fields. I haven't had an issue with anyone at my local field. The communty there is great!

I know you didn't say the third one. That was a quoting mistake I had made. It was directed at Pheonix. Sorry.

I don't see this as drama nor do I think dismissing it as such is really helpful to the point of why LionClaws took these steps.

The problem is when people overhype themselves to the point they start to believe it. I'll be honest, I enjoyed some of their videos, many of them made me chuckle and I had a high level of respect for their dedication.

When I start hearing about cheating and refusal to follow rules, my first thoughts were butthurt players. But as more people began complaining about them, all I could think is what a shame such a well known team is missing out on such a chance to show true leadership. Hell I remember years ago when you heard about them on the forums and how they were such good leaders in the game. Its a shame to see that reputation lost amid accusations of problems from an organizer who in many ways is the model for event organization most try to emulate.

I read about this and honestly, disrespecting any former military or current active duty is absolutely intolerable. These people went and risked their lives to protect the damn right to play this game. Notice how I said game. Some people really forget we're just playing a game. It's fun, competitive, and enforces teamwork. People really forget that often. Just sad to see such a big name get taken down because like what Texx said, they were in the perfect position to support leadership and fair play.

Either way, I was happy to hear this was all solved immediately.

Let's all jump on the bandwagon and hate on them. No, please don't.

h8rs gon' h8

There really is nothing wrong with them, no one is on their MILSIM level. Let them play the sport how they want to, and you can play it how you want to. We played against them at Irene X, and they called their hits. Heck, I even got "bang-banged" by Ronin and it was legitimate (no rifle-butting or 7-million headshots).

As for the disrespect towards McKnight, they simply told him that they pay for his flight to go there and play. They are in trouble for stating the inanimate truth? lolpls. Don't h8 until you attend a LC event and see how effective the "VIPs" actually are.

H8 on me while your at it.

I was at both Irenes. When I seen them get into their charter bus and other places they cleaned up with a garbage bag. And I shot up the front four-five breach guys at this past one. I had no issues, they called their hits and it was over with. They went back to respawn. Then later I got lit up by them, IT IS AIRSOFT... YOU ARE GOING TO GET LIT UP! People seem to forget this, and then get extremely butthurt about it.

Another thing I noticed was the amount of GMR wannabes. When there is a bunch of clones running around they are hard to differentiate from the real and fake. I have watched their videos, and seen them in real life with my own eyes. SPEAR and me ended up having a little dispute with them at night, some of their guys are ignorant and the others are actually really nice guys. We talked everything out for about 5 minutes, some shook hands and went our way... others kept *****ing including some of our own. No benchmades or rifle butts were needed.

A few guys will ruin a group, it doesn't mean the whole group is idiots. I am in no shape or way supporting their past 'bad' actions or this past weekend as I wasn't there and will never care about the story. I am just tired of chairsofters getting on forums/facebook acting like they have played with them/or against them and making posts and threads about it. Get out and play...oh wait. AO and other places is full of these types of people.

Funny story though, I shot their breacher... causing the high ready to fail miserably because he fell down. Thus, making the next two trip over him since he was in their blind spot because of their high ready. Then MagLips and I got lit up by them even with their death rag, we yelled out ID your targets we are dead. Their first line yelled out to their team we were dead and passed us up. The next line already knew and got visual that we were dead so they kept on moving without shooting us. It didn't feel like a car hitting me, more like 5-10 .25 bbs.

I happened to be one of the people hit by it.

I'm going to be honest. I have never met GMR, and IDK if I ever will. I respect their dedication from what I have seen based on organization and such. But past that I can't judge them, cause I don't know them. But this is chairsofting to the max, just go out and shoot someone and shake hands at the end of the day. No need for le drama. I will leave you with a quote from a great man, I feel like it can help those who have only heard stories about GMR or the likes on the internet and feel the need to gossip.
