Why NOT to preorder PC games

Me being the Fallout fan that I am, I decided that I'd preorder Fallout: New Vegas for the PC, and being the dutiful Fallout fan that I am, I went to pick it up at the store.

So I come home to install it, and I get this message:

Note the time and date circled in red.

So I did some searching only to discover that Steam doesn't unlock the game until 3AM our time, because...

Advice for people in training programs

In case any of you have missed the latest AO drama. There has been some serious business about misrepresenting oneself as a member of the military or public safety communities by trainees. I have decided to weigh in on the whole occupation thing. People in initial training are not police, or firemen nor are they truly "in" the military. A cadet is a cadet. A recruit is a recruit, and so on. As a former cadet (like 4 months ago former) I have some advice.

Okay men (and women), I have noticed a rapidly decreasing amount of people willing to just nut up. What I mean by this is people willing to take a chance and actually MOVE on an enemy instead of trying to shoot at each other from 300ft away. Or when a CO says "Okay boys, we need to move on this position and don't stop". It's amazing to me how many people I witness giving the CO an incredulous look like he just asked them to chop off their own...Well, you know. And yet after that initial...

A time for giving...

As the end of another year approaches, I'm again reminded of how lucky I am to have good friends, most of my family alive and kickin', a roof over my head, food that I need to eat, and crap I can play with/do when I'm bored. Many others can't say the same.

Many people this holiday season will go hungry, out in the cold, with little concern of being bored. Kids will go without toys, and so on and so forth.

Nobody on these forums can say that they are poor enough that...

In one year of airsoft, I have....

-Attended 6 events
-Spent close to 850 dollars on airsoft
-Shot around 30,000 bb's, give or take 1000
-Grown 4 inches
-Learned to love MOLLE and drop the Condor chest rig
-Learned to love water and consider real drinks a treat
-Assembled a group of guys and made a team that actually matters
-Get out of the backyard and onto a field
-Learn how not to get eaten on the forums (unlike that baby Red swallowed)
-Learn how to do basic gun work...
