Broken JG AK47 beta worth the repair?

Posted 02-17-2010 at 06:18 PM by misfit0612
So I have two options at this point. 1: I can send my AK in for a professional repair/tune up which would run me around $80 without shipping, and extra fees, etc. 2: I can instead cut my losses and purchase a G&G full metal gun which is a better quality. Over all the repair will cost less but im not sure if it will last in comparrison to the G&G. Thoughts on this matter please. Thank you.

Why G&G? Why trade crap for more expensive crap?

JG AK is superior to most other AKs out there, especially the G&G. If you send the gun to a decent tech the gun will run circles around anything G&G has ever made.

I bought one of the new CYMA AK's and it's surprisingly high quality. They have a lower series which runs about $130, but the newer series (full wood and metal) runs at $180-200, and the quality is shocking (for a "clone"). If you like your gun that much, repair it, but for over $80, I'd keep it as parts and get a newer/better model...

Well the difference between an Echo1 and JG AK is only going to be cosmetic, unless you buy Echo's Vector Arms or whatever. Same gearbox, same factory.

I have established that im only spending around $250 on this project. I do love my Ak but its a beta(shortened version) but lacks accuracy and range. I was thinking on upgrading to a better gun with a longer stock barrel and that is more appropriate for outdoor play. If I factor in all the repair +shipping, +labour charging, +parts, it might cost more then the gun itself and wouldnt it be easier to just purchase a higher quality gun then to pour more $$$ into this gun?

It matters what is wrong with your ak. You could have the gun smith use upgraded parts, to increase your range, fps, and/or rpm to your liking. Creating a good gun at a low cost.

I have put alot of money into airsoft im not much for the aesthetics of a gun or having alot of FPS, I just want a sturdy gun that will last. I dont have many prefrences besides I want a gun that can atleast house a 8.4 large battery and the barrel is longer than a MP5.
